Covington's Tammany Trace trailhead features a campanile, bandstand and amphitheater, and a visitor center featuring rotating art exhibits. The trailhead serves as a resting station for visitors walking or cycling the 31-mile Tammany Trace. Public restrooms on-site.Learn more about the history of Covington with a walk-through photo exhibit, interactive kiosks, short films and kids' video.The trailhead also is site of free concerts, arts & crafts markets, festivals, and a lunchtime farmers market on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Saturday's market is held nearby on the grounds of the Covington Police Dept., 608 N. Columbia St.).The center is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 12-4 p.m. Admission is free.
The facility is available for private event rental. The spacious indoor/outdoor setting may be tailored for events ranging from 100 to 1,500 guests. Rental fee includes use of the outdoor stage, covered market depot, two handicap-accessible restrooms and access to electrical outlets and water.
